SWP Hermes Encrypted Backup
A private, single-user utility designed to create encrypted backups of a Hermes Agent installation and store them in one designated Google Drive folder.
Purpose
The utility uses Hermes Agent's native backup command, encrypts each archive on the operator-controlled server before upload, creates a SHA-256 checksum, and verifies the Google Drive upload. It is not offered as a public service.
Google Drive access
Google Drive authorization is used only to create the designated backup folders; upload encrypted backup archives and checksum files; verify file names, identifiers, and sizes; measure storage availability; and apply the configured retention policy to files created by this utility in that folder.
The utility does not use Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Docs, or Sheets. It does not intentionally inspect unrelated Google Drive file contents.
Security design
- Only encrypted archives and their checksums are uploaded.
- The recovery private key is kept outside the server.
- Scheduled backups run without an AI model or language-model tokens.
- Retention is restricted to files created by this utility in one exact folder.
